Free domain droplist/auction scanning tool

Posted by Dan in Domaining

Hi everyone, Dan again.

As you know Domaining.in is under new management!

As you have seen we have been doing a lot of work around here to spruce up the site, among those tasks has been deleting old irrelevant posts and links. However, I found this post left from the past owner and decided to keep it here, as many readers seemed to like the”FREE TOOL LINK”, enjoy!

THE OLD POST IS IN QUOTATIONS BELOW:

Just a very quick post as I’m super busy at the moment. Just wanted to let you know (do I actually have any readers yet?!) that I have made one of my domain scanning tools available. I wrote the tool years ago when I was learning/improving my Perl coding skills. It’s very rough and not particularly accurate but I’ve used it in the past to find many real gems that are hidden in huge drop lists and domain auctions.

So how does it work? Simple, I have a database of search terms (incomplete and out of date – so it will miss some blatantly awesome domains sorry!) and the tool will scan droplists against these terms. It then assigns a score to each domain, in theory the higher the score the better the domain (this doesn’t always work out in practice though). The domain list updates on a daily basis and includes expiring domains as well as Snapnames, NameJet and GoDaddy auction exclusives.

Why am I releasing this free to the public? Well I’m part-time domaining at the moment, between my job and family life I don’t get a while lot of spare time to buy and sell domains. Obviously I’d hope that my site/blog get a few more visitors and links this way too…

  • The Battle Between Social Media VS. Directory Submission
Entrepreneurs and individuals have become even more frustrated with social media than usual, as of late.   Most likely, it is because social media has proven to be overtly time consuming, and generally produces less than lackluster results, (at best, the results of social media campaigns can be difficult to quantify –  if they […]

  • Buying links – spotting the cheaters..
I came across an interesting article about spotting sites that pay for links. We all know this type of behavior is generally frowned upon by Google and can lead to penalties for your site. Presumably the search engines can spot linking anomalies and therefore buying large numbers of unnatural links, can damage your site’s rankings […]

Recently SEOMoz published a list of the 400 top directories in different niches. I’m pleased to say that both Domaining.in and 9ug Directory made the list! • Is it worth submitting to paid directories?
Yes! Submitting yours or your client’s website/s to quality link paid directories with high authority is one of the most important tools for achieving fantastic ranking results, and Google recommends it! However, you need to look for directories moderated by humans, listing only quality websites and avoid SPAM directories. So far, we’ve only been comparing [ […]

Time for a hastily put together midweek post.. Previously I posted a short list of strong free directories (which will be expanded over the coming weeks and months). • Strong directories
So I’ve been meaning for a while to try to compile a list of some of the strongest free directories around. This is a first attempt at putting a list together – it’s by no means anywhere near complete but is a start, I will be adding to this list over time and aim to […]
